Here is a thought from Deborah L.

Is it possible for OSSA members to create a posting on our website to let the members know we’re experiencing a slow time and are looking for more work? Or, perhaps sending a broadcast email might be a good way to let people know that we could use some transcription, word processing, etc., in the hopes that another member can pass some work along.

Like everyone else, I have ups and downs in my business. Sometimes I get a call for a job that’s more than I can handle either time-wise or size-wise. I had one this morning and I couldn’t even fathom having to go through the process of calling or emailing people to see if they had time to assist me with the job. I know he didn’t call me back because I was faltering about helping him, which is fine today, because I didn’t get quite enough sleep. But, I probably would have accepted the job, if I quickly knew I had someone who could help me with it. He had an unrealistic deadline for one person.

Cherie Tucker provided a few tips that I'm going to post here for reference:

When capitalizing mom and dad, she said that when you are writing to them, you capitalize it. "Dear Mom and Dad". When you are writing about them, no caps are needed.

She said we should use the word "less" when speaking of volume and "fewer" when talking about numbers or things you can count.

She also reminded us that the word "everyone" is singular meaning every one and when picking the proper pronoun, to remember to use a singular one OR change the sentence to be neutral.

If any of you have additional comments from the meeting, please feel free to post.
